The 4th round of the 2012 All Japan Rally took place on June 29th~July 1st in Toya Hokkaido with the Yanagisawa/Nakahara piloting the Subaru Impreza STi GRB, Sumiyama/Kase piloting the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, and Miyoshi/Yasui combo piloting the Toyota 86. Team Yanagisawa managed to grab the 1st place finish this round, with Sumiyama placing in at 5th. The Miyoshi 86 in its second debut is now ranked 2nd overall in its class.
This year's rally resulted in a shorter course layout due to heavy rainfall diminishing the roads in May. The June 30th stage consisted of a4.53km, 5.97km, 2.36km 3SS loops of 9SS, and July 1st 6.77km, 3.21km, 3.06km looped twice for 6SS, total of 15SS 64.66km layout.

Despite being the first to run this day against Katsuda, who battled Yanagisawa in the Fukushima stage with a 0.8 sec difference, played it calm and composed throughout the race. This time, Yanagisawa managed to trap in with a wide margin of 6.3 second lead over Katsuda.

The Toyota 86 made its second rally debut in this stage with the newly released vehicle still being dialed in for that perfect setting. The perfect suspension setting lead the duo to an overall 2nd rank in the JN-3 class
