CUSCO RACING strengthen the teaming for 2008 Super GT series
Tetsuya YAMANO is teaming with Kouta SASAKI


Japanese Motorsport Part Manufacturer Carrosser announced that its motorsport works team, CUSCO RACING would tackle with Japanese Super GT series(9 rounds) with “CUSCO DUNLOP SUBARU IMPREZA” which is updated 2007 model. The team will launch new 2008 spec model from mid of the season.

Team’s competition machine, “CUSCO DUNLOP SUBARU IMPREZA”was built in 2006 with integrating all of the company’s experience that gained through its motorsport activities or developing after part for road vehicle. The machine adopted “Symmetrical AWD layout” which is rare in not only among Super GT series but among all of road race over the world. In addition, drive train mainly is using Trans axel that had designed and developed by own. Not only this, but also from chassis to suspension, number of area had been designed and developed by “Carrosser”as third party parts manufacturer. Therefore, the machine is exactly racing machine that gathered all experience of the company. The machine for earlier this season and its third season for the machine, its given feedback data and experience which gained through competition since 2006 season, and having evolution consistently.

For the engine, it has been continuing get support from STI and takes full advantage of world top class technology that brought from WRC(World Rally Championship) . Additionally, CUSCO RACING becomes only team of DUNLOP tyre shod among GT300 series that meant expecting advance on development and speed. Under the situation that has potential to take maximum advantage of AWD, team will target to show consistency with high-level performance among highly competitive GT300 class and to strengthen own competiveness on actual race.

Tetsuya Yamano, who previously experienced to make GT 300 title three years in row, will continue to drive for the team. Yamano is teaming up with Kouta Sasaki who has experience to got series title with Yamano in 2005. Team is delighted with this ideal drivers line up which is expecting the speed on qualify, management of racing, also ability of machine development and setting ability through race week. Team is expecting not only evolution of the machine but also its high competiveness. Team also welcomed experienced engineer who know the Super GT series much well to bring driver’s maximum potential to target high-level development in quickly.

I hope to become one of teeth of gear which everyone feels to need it as like differential of CUSCO!”

With this team structure, CUSCO RACING is targeting to having “best race” with effort by whole of team and looking at best result for the team at end of the season.
