Victory in Super GT!!
CUSCO RACING made pole to win victory in Super GT!!
The main race of fourth round of Japanese Super GT series, “SUPER GT INTERNATIONAL SERIES MALAYSIA” was under taken on 22 June at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia. CUSCO RACING and their machine CUSCO DUNLOP SUBARU IMPREZA made memorable victory on this event as first victory of AWD machine in GT300 class on Super GT series.
Team’s machine, CUSCO DUNLOP SUBARU IMPREZA clinched pole position as they set fastest lap of GT300 class at Super Lap attack (characteristic second qualifying of the series). They started the main race from pole position. Actually it was first time ever in the history of the series that AWD machine stand on pole position. After race started on 1600hrs(in Malaysian time), starting driver, Tetsuya Yamano was leading GT300 class. He and his teammate Kouta Sasaki never gave the position to any machine. They maintained the lead until checker and gain memorable their first time victory at this series since 1998. This victory also first win for AWD machine of the series since the series renamed as Super GT series. (During previous Japanese GT Championship, one of 4WD machine won in GT500).
