Pre-event quote from APRC drivers(before NZ)
|
Hiroshi Yanagisawa "This season already had done two rounds. The rally in New Zealand, third round of APRC is the one which I have most experience in international competition. Therefore I have more data of condition of stages or knowledge for driving and machine settings, so I'm going to make hard push to looking for high result. Of course there will be many strong contenders such as Cody or MRF team who will come to NZ after for while missing and Takuma from ARAI MS, so it will be tough battle. But we, CUSCO RACING will enter three cars with Dean and Yuya who will drive in international field first time, so we will make best effort with all together and looking for top result. Please keep support us!" |

Yuya Sumiyama "For me, this rally will be the first rally of this season and also first rally in overseas. So my primary aim will be to complete this event with getting many experiences as driver and will put those experience account on Asia Cup which start from Rally Hokkaido. Also CUSCO RACING has high chance to gain pacific cup title with Dean, so I'm looking forward him to achieve it!" |

Dean Herridge "I am really looking forward to New Zealand, after the two previous results we are leading the Pacific Cup. At the beginning of the year this was my primary goal for Cusco was to win this FIA Cup. With this lead we are not required to win the event in NZ to secure the Cup so I will be looking to continue to drive solid with no mistakes to ensure victory. Of course I also have in the back of my mind that we are also leading the APRC and would like another round of points to try and also stay in the fight for this championship. |

I am really enjoying driving for the Cusco Team, they are very professional and I feel that with every event together we are becoming stronger and stronger. For this event the team will run 3 Cars for the first time, so I think is exciting for Cusco and will be another challenge for the all the management and crew but will great to have 3 strong Cusco cars competing together in NZ. Although NZ have fantastic “driver” roads I think this will again be a very tough event, there are many good drivers and teams in the rally including many fast local competitors but saying that my priority will remain Pacific Cup, APRC and then the event. All in all I think this will be a very exciting event for the team." |
